About the business and the role

Denton Engineering Hydraulics is a general jobbing/breakdown engineering workshop that takes pride in getting the job done right and in a timely manner.

We do manual machining, fitting, hydraulic repairs, thermal arc metal spraying, welding fabrication, along with inhouse sandblasting painting.

Machining is our forte. Being a jobbing/breakdown workshop, we have a quick turnover and large variety of work, in a sometimes challenging environment.

Our company is up front, no fuss and hard working.

The right candidate must be a motivated self starter with at least 5 years RECENT post trade experience.

This position is for an immediate start.

Employment will initally be casual, with a view to move to full time for the right candidate.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

– turning
– milling
– boring
– thermal arc metal spraying
– fitting

Skills and experience

Essential requirements are:

– EXPERIENCED 1st Class Manual Machinist – (preferrably old school)
– Australian qualification.
– Experienced on manual lathes (medium large)
– Experienced on milling machines (medium large)
– At least 5 years of RECENT post trade experience
– Movitated/self starter

Operation of horizontal and/or vertical borers would be advantageous

Your new role

Based in Rutherford NSW, this full time position is responsible for the effective maintenance of all plant and equipment on site. Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Performing all activities safely.
  • Maintain and service all aspects of the plant to applicable Company and legislative standards on a day to day basis. This includes any repair or rectification work on defective plant or equipment.
  • Perform fault/maintenance diagnostic activities complete repairs as required to ensure continuous operation of the plant.
  • Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance services relating to the plant. This includes implementing any mechanical shutdown plans and regular maintenance activities.
  • Manage any inventory of equipment/parts that are required to perform maintenance and service activity.
  • Test plant and equipment to ensure repair/maintenance work has been completed correctly.
  • Document maintenance work, maintain maintenance databases and generate purchase orders.
  • Perform fabrication activities in accordance with blueprints or schematic drawings including any minor welding repairs as required, set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking equipment.

Your skills and experience

The successful candidate will have a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (AUS) or equivalent with post trade experience in an industrial environment. A forklift licence, driver licence, confined space and working at heights tickets along with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team are highly regarded. Computer literacy is essential for this role. Ideally you will have experience in maintaining rotating equipment as well as performing breakdown maintenance.

Position open for a Floor Finisher who is looking to work in a busy environment for a leading Tiling and Floor Finishing business in central New South Wales.

Applicants must be experienced.

Installing floor coverings, such as carpets, carpet tiles, vinyl planks, sheet vinyl, lock in timber and laminate, matching patterns, cutting shapes around fixtures and trimming edges.

Measuring areas to be covered and consulting plans to estimate quantities of floor covering materials required.

Floor preparation with cement products, Feather finish priming agent, levelling cements, rapid set cement.

Measuring, cutting and fixing underlay materials.

Stretching of carpet on underlay + trimming and finishing.

Heat welding of commercial vinyl.

Coving of commercial vinyl including heat welding internal and external corners.

Fitting edge trims in doorways.

5 years’ minimum experience is a must.
