Workshop located in Newcastle seeking to start an experienced manager Our client is a well established and respected privately owned fabrication company with specialist workshops that fabrication of structural steel components for the commercial and industrial construction industry across Australia.
As the Fabrication/Workshop/Production Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of fabrication projects, task allocation to tradesman, scheduling of work, drawing interpretation, training guidance, and presentation of products and services in line with the policies, procedures and work practices of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Allocation of tasks to employees
Adhere to the company’s safety standards, policies and procedures
Liaise with customers and clients
Inspections
Quality Control
Timecard management
Examine all stages of fabrication and welding to ensure compliance with company procedures
Provide training and assistance to employees
Ensure production targets and work quality are achieved
Report any equipment problems or safety issues to the Operations Manager The experience of the successful candidate will ideally include:
An engineering and/or relevant trade background within a heavy manufacturing environment;
Extensive experience in a similar role, preferably managing large manufacturing/production facility;
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specification documents;
